Why a loyalty program pays in Nepal

See how a digital loyalty card works

Your customers already pay by phone

QR payment transactions in Nepal rose 92.5% in the 2024/25 fiscal year, by Nepal Rastra Bank figures. Scanning a code at the counter is already a habit.

Himal Press, reporting NRB data

More than half the country is online

About 56% of people in Nepal use the internet. A card that lives on their phone is one they never leave at home.

Paper cards get lost. Points don't

Stamps on paper vanish with the card. On Eknas, points sit in the customer's account, so a new phone or a forgotten wallet loses nothing.

How it works at your counter

Staff use the counter on the phone, tablet or computer you already have. No new hardware, nothing to install on a till.

  1. Find the customer

Scan the code in their Eknas app, let them scan your counter QR, or look them up by mobile number. A walk-in can be added with just a number.

  2. Type the bill

Enter the amount in rupees. A bill above the limit you set asks staff to confirm it once more.

  3. Points land straight away

1 point for every rupee goes on their card, and the app tells them the moment a reward is ready.

Rewards nobody can cheat

Every reward is claimed with a code only the customer can see, and every bill is tied to the person who entered it.

Single-use codes

The customer asks for a 6-character code that lasts 15 minutes. It works once, even if two staff tap at the same moment.

Staff never see codes in advance

The counter only shows that a code was requested. The customer reads it out or shows its QR, which proves they are there.

A login for every staff member

Owners, managers and cashiers each sign in as themselves. Cashiers see masked mobile numbers and no birthdays, and can be kept to one branch.

Mistakes are fixed, not hidden

Managers can void a bill within 7 days, which takes its points back. Bills, voids, redemptions and phone lookups are all recorded with who did them.

Your program, your rules

Set how much a customer spends to reach the main reward, add smaller rewards on the way, and see the card exactly as they will.

A goal that fits your bills

The editor shows how many visits your goal takes at your shop's average bill, so it stays within reach.

Points above the goal carry over

When a round ends, the extra points start the next one. Nobody loses what they earned.

Customers keep the deal they started

By default, a new goal or reward applies to new rounds, so nobody's promise changes halfway.

Bring people back automatically

Send offers, events and announcements to the members you choose, and let automatic messages do the rest.

Automatic messages (from Growth)

Every plan welcomes new members. Birthday, almost-there, expiring-reward and win-back messages go out on their own, one person at a time.

At-risk regulars (from Pro)

See regulars who have stayed away for more than twice their usual gap, and send them a win-back offer before they forget you.

Automatic messages in the Eknas dashboard: birthday wishes, a welcome message, almost at the reward, reward expiring and we miss you, each with a preview

Know who your regulars are

Every member's visits, spend, points and rewards in one list, with filters for reward ready, close to a reward, birthdays and customers who have gone quiet.

The customer list: 332 members, 91% returning, and each customer's points, visits, total spent and last visit

Analytics by branch and staff (from Growth)

Built for every kind of shop

The same card works whether your bill is NPR 150 or NPR 15,000. Here is how it fits each kind of business.

Cafés and bakeries

Regulars come often with small bills, so a stamp card (from Growth) feels familiar: a stamp for every NPR 200, say, and a free drink on a full card. A second program can run a coffee beans club.

Example rewardFree sel roti and chiya at 4,000 points

Restaurants and momo shops

Bigger bills reach a reward sooner. Birthday and win-back messages fill tables in quiet weeks, and double-points days lift slow afternoons.

Example rewardChilli momo plate at 3,200 points

Salons and barbers

Clients come back every few weeks. A message when they are almost at a reward brings the next appointment forward.

Example rewardFree blow dry at 6,000 points

Gyms and studios

Points on every renewal and class add up to something members want, and at-risk regulars (from Pro) show who has stopped coming.

Example rewardFree month of membership at 30,000 points

Shops, groceries and pharmacies

Reward the whole basket, not one product. At a busy checkout, staff find a customer by the last four digits of their number.

Example rewardNPR 300 off your next bill at 5,000 points

Examples only. You choose your own goal and rewards.

One account for every branch

Add each branch as a location. Customers earn and redeem at any of them, staff can be kept to their own branch, and allowances grow with every location you add.

Works with what you have

Eknas sits beside your billing or POS rather than replacing it. The counter runs in a browser or the app, using the camera you already have. On Pro, the Eknas team can connect your POS, website or app through the developer API.

Developer API

Your customers' rewards are protected

If you ever stop a program or leave Eknas, every customer is told the exact final date and keeps at least 30 days to redeem what they have unlocked. It is a promise you can make at the counter from the first visit.

Questions owners ask

Still deciding? Start the free trial and set up your card first; you only pay when you choose a plan.

How do customer loyalty programs work?

Customers join your card at the counter, earn points on every bill and come back to reach a reward you set. With Eknas you choose the spending goal, add smaller rewards along the way, and staff record each bill from a phone or computer. The app tells customers when a reward is ready.

How do I give points to my customers?

At the counter, staff scan the customer's Eknas code, or the customer scans your counter QR. Staff can also find them by mobile number. Staff type the bill amount, and the points appear on the customer's card straight away. Every staff member has their own login, so each bill can be traced.

Do my customers need to pay or download an app?

No. Joining is free for customers. They can use the Eknas app on Android or iPhone, or the website, and staff can add a walk-in customer by mobile number alone. Those points are saved and move to the customer's account once they sign up and staff confirm their live code.

What can I send to my members?

Offers, events and announcements. Every plan sends new members a welcome message, and Growth and above add automatic birthday, almost-there, expiring-reward and win-back messages. Each plan has a wait between offers (3 days on Starter, 1 day on Growth and 6 hours on Pro), so members don't tire of you.

Can staff cheat or redeem a reward twice?

No. Rewards are redeemed with a single-use 6-character code that the customer requests and shows. It expires in 15 minutes and works once, even if two staff tap at the same time. Staff never see codes in advance, and every bill and redemption is recorded against the person signed in.

Do I need new hardware or a POS?

No. The counter runs in a browser or the app on a phone, tablet or computer, and uses its camera to scan codes. Eknas sits beside your billing or POS rather than replacing it. On Pro, the Eknas team can connect your POS through the developer API.

Can I use Eknas for more than one branch?

Yes. Add each branch as a location. Customers earn and redeem at any of them, and from Growth up, analytics show sales, bills and returning customers by location and by staff member. Plans are priced per location, and member and staff allowances grow with every location you add.

What does my shop page show?

Every business gets a public Eknas page with its card, main branch and phone number. Growth adds a map, every branch, social links, live offers, a menu with prices and verified customer ratings. Pro adds a cover photo, highlights, a Featured badge and the top spot in the Explore list.

How do I get more Google reviews?

On Pro you can connect your Google Business Profile. After a customer rates a paid visit on Eknas, they are offered Google's own review page, whatever their rating, because Google does not allow review gating. Your Google rating and recent reviews also show on your Eknas page, with Google's attribution.
